Sonia Fernandez is the Let’s Eat Healthy program manager and leads the activation and advancement of Let’s Eat Healthy, a movement to empower healthier children, families and communities through nutrition.
By leveraging existing community relationships and strengthening new connections, Sonia is able to pursue and create collaborative opportunities that educate, engage and empower key stakeholders across disciplines for Let’s Eat Healthy. Her commitment to elevating health and health outcomes of people runs deep, with longstanding engagement and leadership in regional and statewide collaboratives including the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of California and the California Local School Wellness Policy Collaboratives.
A nutrition and education expert, Sonia brings invaluable expertise and insight into her role as the Let’s Eat Healthy program manager. Under her leadership, Let’s Eat Healthy will expand and be valued as part of the solution to improving health in schools and communities throughout California and beyond.
Sonia earned a M.A. in Teaching from National University, Sacramento and a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science with an emphasis in General Dietetics from California State University, Chico.
