In her role, Renée Farias builds relationships and collaborative opportunities with key influencers across her region, which includes educators, school food service professionals, school leadership, health professionals and community leaders, to prioritize and elevate the health of children and families through nutrition.

Working closely with school districts and health organizations in her region, Renée knows the value and important role school meals have on nourishing students by providing them with direct access to nutritious foods, including milk and dairy, vegetables and fruit, and whole grains. Improving the health of children and communities require collaboration and knowledge, which is why she works so tirelessly to build strong partners who are interested in nutrition and improving community health. Renée provides professional trainings, support and nutrition resources to empower her partners to teach nutrition. She also advises on the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of California Leadership Team, a program that encourages students to make healthier food choices in the school cafeteria.

Before joining Dairy Council of California, Renée worked for Migrant Head Start where she worked with young children and families in the agricultural industry to ignite a passion and value for early childhood education and healthy foods. She believes every child deserves a healthy start, which includes access to nutrition education and nutritious food to support optimal growth and development.
