Meet staff member, Lisa Larsen.Lisa Larsen provides leadership, mentoring and support to a team of community nutrition advisers across the state. Lisa is committed to helping her team not only reach regional and organizational goals but also elevate the health of children and families.

A nutrition professional with more than two decades of field expertise, Lisa believes that planning is the cornerstone to progress. She is a firm believer in bringing visions to life by developing a strong strategic plan with executable tactics and tangible metrics to anticipate impact before implementation, an approach she applies to her work and teaches to her team. Her goal is that her team of community nutrition advisors can successfully engage and empower educators, health professionals and food service personnel to ensure nutrition and nutrition education remain invaluable in schools and communities. Lisa maintains a high standard of personal responsibility and excels in strategizing and seeing projects to completion, setting the bar high for her team with positive results. 

In addition to leading a team of community nutrition advisors, Lisa supports the nutrition education and resource development teams, leading nutrition resource development projects and fostering strong collaborative relationships with educators, school food service professionals and community health leaders.  

Lisa is proud that her work continues to elevate the health of children and families, supporting key access points for nutrition and nutrition education in their lives, as well as advocating for healthy growth and development and improved academic performance. As a godmother to two nephews, she is inspired to work tirelessly to improve the health of communities for the benefit of today’s youth and future generations.  

Lisa earned a B.S. in dietetics and food science from California State University, Chico.
