For over 15 years, Leona Bettencourt has served as an office coordinator at Dairy Council of
California, supporting the Mobile Dairy Classroom program by coordinating with schools throughout California to bring Mobile Dairy Classroom assemblies to their school to teach ag literacy. The original farm-to-school program, Mobile Dairy Classroom
is a beloved program that educates and inspires new generations of young students each year. Leona also supports educational outreach efforts beyond California, supplying schools and organizations outside the state with science-based, nutrition education
resources that teach children and families how to eat healthfully.
As office coordinator, Leona plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the office. Her commitment to supporting staff, the workplace and the work of the organization is evident in her willingness to provide needed resources, whether
that is ordering office supplies, supporting meetings or locating materials. She helps keep the office running and stocked with essential supplies, and she does it with a smile.
Leona is passionate about her family, church and community. She has been married for over 47 years, has five sons, five grandchildren and fosters foreign exchange students through a local Christian high school. She is a longstanding board member of her
church and has served for 25 years on Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, helping others and the community.
