Maureen Bligh’s expertise includes developing nutrition education resources aimed at children, families and health professionals to make healthy eating more actionable. More recently, she has led marketing
and communication strategies focused on healthy eating patterns validated by the latest research in nutrition science. Her goal—to make nutrition approachable and applicable to all audiences to drive positive outcomes.
Maureen is passionate about educating and empowering families and children to eat healthfully, equipping them with essential skills needed to develop lifelong healthy eating habits. Over her rich tenure as a registered dietitian, Maureen has seen the rise of obesity and chronic diseases among children and believes it is imperative to reverse this trend. She believes that all children and their families deserve access to healthy foods and nutrition education to not only grow healthfully, but as a way to reverse childhood obesity and chronic disease trends.
Maureen has a M.A. in education from Cal State University, Sacramento, and a B.S. in dietetics and food administration from Cal State University, San Luis Obispo. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Iowa.
Collaboration across all sectors and at all levels will be required to find realistic solutions that will build healthier families and communities.
