A Smarter Lunchroom nudges students to make healthier choices on their own by changing the way the food choices are presented.
The Smarter Lunchrooms Movement was created in 2009 by the Cornell University Food & Brands Lab. The goal of the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement is to promote the consumption of healthy school lunch options and reduce food waste, using low or no-cost evidence-based strategies. The Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of California began in 2012 when a group of partner organizations collaborated to bring Smarter Lunchrooms to California schools.
Healthy communities. Healthy schools. Healthy students.
