1 Onion, large
1 Bell pepper, large
2 cloves Garlic
3 pounds Ground beef
4-5 tablespoons Chili powder
1 28 ounce can Crushed tomato
1 28 ounce can Pureed tomato
1 28 ounce can Dark red kidney beans
1-2 pounds Keilbasa


Dice onion, pepper and garlic. Place in large frying pan or cast iron skillet with ground beef to brown.

Transfer beef and vegetables to extra large dutch oven, pot or even slow-cooker over medium-high heat.

Add in Chili powder and tomatoes. Drain and add kidney beans. Slice kielbasa and add to pot.

Mix well and cook on medium heat for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Cook's Notes:

Chili tends to taste better the next day or so. While the beans and added kielbasa make this not a true chili, it's my family's favorite!
