Add some healthy fish to your family meal with this classic dinner dish.


2 tablespoons Butter
1 cup thinly sliced Mushrooms
1/4 cup finely chopped green Onions
2 tablespoons white Flour
2 1/2 cups low-fat Milk
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
2 (6 ounce) cans Tuna
2 cups cooked egg Noodles
1/4 cup Parsley, minced
1/2 cup dry Breadcrumbs


Preheat oven to 375°. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Saute mushrooms and onions until just tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and whisk in milk. Return pan to heat and cook, stirring, until it thickens and almost reaches a boil. Remove from heat and stir in cheese; stir until melted.

Drain tuna and break into flakes. Put in large bowl and add sauce, cooked noodles, parsley. Stir together and pour into greased baking dish. Sprinkle top with breadcrumbs. Bake at 375 until browned on top, about 30 minutes.

Kids can help measure ingredients, grate cheese, drain tuna, boil noodles, mix ingredients, stir cheese mixture, spread ingredients into baking dish and clean up.

Serve your favorite green vegetables and/or a spinach salad with this dish. Crusty rolls and butter add some crunch.
