Kristal Shelden, MPH, RDN

Kristal Shelden, MPH, RDN, first developed an interest in community programs that impact children while working at summer youth camps during college. She went on to complete her yearlong dietetic internship at Tulane University. Living in the diverse culture and community of New Orleans that year helped shape Kristal’s perspective on how food can bring communities together, which ultimately encouraged her to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Project Manager of Nutrition Sciences at Dairy Council of California. In this role she leads projects and partnerships that promote the health of communities, ensures organizational activities are grounded in evidence-based science and co-leads the Dairy Council of CA trends process.

Kristal earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and her master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California at Davis. Combining her love for food and nutrition with her interest in public health, Kristal hopes to help create communities where families have access to balanced nutrition for optimal health.
