Nutrition Curriculum for KindergartenBuilding a Healthy Me!

This six-lesson plan nutrition curriculum aligns with California education standards and can easily integrate into your units on Language Arts, Health, Math, Social Studies and Physical Education. The lessons were created using a behavior-change model that encourages healthy-eating behaviors and attitudes in your students.

These lessons have been designed with flexibility (and fun!) in mind in order to blend well with your usual instructional sequence. Kindergarten students will learn about food groups and the importance of breakfast as a healthy start to their day. They will practice making healthy food choices, considering personal preference and cost in a "grocery store" trip in your classroom. Students will also learn to follow and prepare a simple recipe. This nutrition curriculum is free for California kindergarten teachers!
